I just want to let Debby know that I prayed that you would NOT bomb the science and history portions of the TAKS...and I have every confidence that you didn't!

Summer is almost here and so we have initated our sand volleyball ritual...every Wednesday night, come in your sports gear so that you can join in our game! Our Wednesday night schedule is this: FREE food, a lesson where the Bible and current events intersect, and sand volleyball. I think I just made you a deal you can't refuse. Your friends are welcome to come and play with us. By about 8:30, the sun has disappeared, so that leaves you with plenty of time to go home, finish that homework you "forgot" and plan your outfit for the next day! :)

Hope to see you on the court come Wednesday...prepare to be demolished!

This Sunday is such a special day. It is Easter, a celebration of hope for all who believe. For the Christ-follower, it is the event on which our faith rests. Paul wrote, "if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also is vain."

The beautiful truth is that He has been raised! Death has been defeated, victory has been obtained. And this truth is what sustains us in the darkest times, fills us with joy in times of celebration, and reminds of the awesome power of the King we serve. I pray that this week has been about more than getting a new dress, buying some candy, or enjoying a Friday off of school; I pray that it has become a sacred time of remembrance and reflection. After all, there would be no Easter without the Cross and there would be no life without death.

Make it a proiority to be at church on Sunday, gathering with other believers and celebrating the Risen Lord!

Here is Chris Tomlin's latest song. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch

March 29, 2009 will go down in history as one of the best Sunday night services our church has EVER seen. First, we kicked it off wth a Fifth Sunday Singin' and Deb brought down the house with her rendition of what is apparently a Randy Travis classic. Enjoy this video. www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi

Then, after all the fun was had...we merely took a deep breath and it was time for a weddin'. Lori & James's weddin' to be exact. It was one of the sweetest weddings I have ever been to.

The grand finale was, of course, the eatin'. (Sorry, I have an aversion to makin' any words in this blog fully spelled out. I'm diggin' the country style of writin' today!) As good Baptists, we outdid ourselves and how could we not? It was a WEDDIN' EATIN'...okay, I am even annoyed now.

Enjoy the pics and make sure that you don't miss a single Sunday night at Mission Dorado Baptist Church - you never know what's going to happen!
