èToday:  This morning it is a joy and privilege to welcome Clyde Annandale!  I trust and pray that his ministry will touch your hearts and be a blessing in your life.  As a church family we have the opportunity to be a blessing to Clyde and to further his ministry through a Love Offering.  Our church has never let anyone down, and I know that we will all be obedient to what the Lord would have us do.  There is absolutely no doubt that God's abundant graciousness towards us is directly correlated to the generosity of your heart as a people. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for you my sheep, with the help of the great head shepherd, it is my privilege to lead you and guide you in the ways of God. I could not ask for a greater opportunity or a more abundant joy.   Keep in mind June 28th, for  that day will be our second annual "Friend Day" and that is something that could prove to be an amazing launch pad for us as a body!  Keep praying and keep inviting! God is not through with Odessa yet.  Whilst we still have a church, we have a way to reach our community.  Don't ever, ever quit and remember the people who seem impossible to us, are mere putty in the great Potter's hand.   ~ We love you and say so!

MORNING MESSAGE: I cannot tell you how excited I am about what has transpired recently. For a year now we have been praying for the fruition of "Operation Double Dorado".  A few months ago God gave this to us by placing the Anderson family in our midst, He not only blessed us with a fantastic family, but He gave us people who really bought in to the vision of this church. Through living it out and being a constant witness at his work place, Jerry Anderson had the awesome privilege of leading Theodora Comacho to Christ.  Now in turn, I am thrilled to be able to baptize Theodora this morning!!! What an answer to prayer and what proof it is that this vision can truly become a living breathing reality.  I really pray that everyone gets serious about inviting somebody for June 28th. I dare you to pick the least likely of candidates. I dare you to pick the one person that you say God could never do that with.  Be strong and very courageous. Ask for them in prayer and then show them that you care!!! One invitation could change their life and be the inspiration you need to kick on.

I pray that we come this morning excited again about what God can and will do.  Next week we have the blessing of welcoming Clyde Annandale to our church.  On your way out, you will see flyers on the table in the foyer. Please take some with you and distribute them so that we can have a house full of visitors.  This is truly a great opportunity to see God work not only  in those who do not yet know Him,  but also in those of us who have already confessed Him as Lord and Savior.  Don't miss out, or allow anyone else to either.  At the end of next month we will be having our second annual friends day.  More details will follow but I trust that this day will be bathed with much prayer and anticipation.  Next Sunday will be a fifth Sunday so don't forget to bring your pot luck dishes as we were still be hosting a fellowship.  Remember especially to bring desserts for your favorite Pastor!!  If you are not sure what to bring, I will be available for consultation following the service! ~ We love you and say so!

MORNING & EVENING MESSAGE: As we continue to talk about "Authentic Christianity", I want to look today at the kind of life that the word "Authentic" really implies.  Many of us here today have just been through, or are facing medical surgeries or procedures.  The rest of us would be deemed healthy. It is clear that in churches all across America, there are physically sick people and there are those who are spiritually sick.  This morning no matter what your physical condition is, it is my assessment that most, if not all of us need a touch from the Master Physician.  You may be physically healthy this morning, but to be unauthentic with Jesus is a much worse condition.  It would be better to be on the verge of physical death, yet have a VIBRANT relationship with God.  I pray today that God will reenergize and rejuvenate us so that we can be the kind of people and church that He wants us to be.  Oh that all of us would be like the brother we spoke of last week who caught a glimpse of the real Jesus and forever allowed it to radically change him and everyone else he came into contact with. Where are you today?  God can come and do a new work in you and through you.

God just keeps being so good to us!  Last week we had a great week and welcome the Ward family as another addition to our church family. This morning we again get the privilege and honor of baptizing. A few weeks ago Jeanette Hickey came out at the end of the service and said that she was ready to accept Jesus!  What an absolute glorious answer to prayer!!  This is indeed why we open the doors of Mission Dorado Baptist Church so that people may find Jesus and grow in Him. You will notice this morning that hearing aids are not needed as we have purchased and installed a brand new sound system.  You thought I was loud before....but as the old saying goes "you ain't seen nothing yet!" You may want to include Andy Murphy in some of your prayers as he tries to understand and deal with a much more sophisticated system. A lot of people work diligently behind the scenes where                  nobody notices or understands what they have done.  I would like to thank Bob Lynch, Bill James, Devin Chitty, Dennis Kneupper, Larry Lindley, Andy Murphy, Dwyane Dobbs, Michael Griffin & Bill Wilkerson for all of their hard work and long hours.  Remember that 2 weeks from today we have Clyde Annandale coming to present the Gospel through drama. This is a great opportunity so invite your friends and family!~ We love you and say so!

MORNING & EVENING MESSAGE: If someone were to ask you "What is a Christian?" and "What is this church thing all about?" what would you say? If ever there was a time that we needed a correct answer to these questions, it is now!  Today I want to explain what exactly an Authentic Christian is.  Next week we will follow this up by exploring  how we should feel, how we should act, and what we should think of when we talk about church.  It is clear that lots of people are confused, deceived, ignorant, and blinded about these two critical matters.  This is why so many people have bought into a diluted and false idea of Christianity and why today more than ever, the Christian church find itself in a state of bewilderment  and powerlessness.  I trust today will be a time where we once again get excited about who we are in Christ and what he can do through us as a body of believers.

Prayer time on Thursdays

Join us in the sanctuary on Thursdays for prayer.  We have three seperate times so that everyone can make one session.  The times are 7.00 am, 12 noon and 6.00 pm.

Each meeting only lasts for about thirty minutes, but it is a great time to meet with the Lord and each other.  It is an awesome privillege and honor to pray and so we need to take advantage of it.

Let me ask you a few questions -

Does prayer work?

Does God want you to pray?

Is prayer important?

Do you have time to come on Thursdays?

Do you think you would benefit from a time of prayer?

Do you like to hear the petitions of other believers?

If you answered "Yes" to these questions then i guess we should see you Thursday !!

We love you and say so!!

When you wake up in the morning what are your expecting from God?

When you walk into Church on a Sunday what are you expecting?

A lot of us just plod along and go through the normality of life, never stopping to think of how God could use us.  If God's people would return to prayer and believe that God could move, what a difference that could make.  Remember Paul's Prayer for the Ephesian Church - "I also pray that you will understand the greatness of God's power for us who believe Him.  This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms".  (Eph 1:19-20)

If we really understood what power God has, we would be radically different.  All of a sudden the alure of the world would fade away as God visits with His people.

I challenge you this week, especially at Church, go expecting to see and hear from the Lord, and watch Him do great and mighty things.  Never forget that the Lord changed the world with 12 ordinary men.  Imagine what He could do with every saint if we would yield to His will and walk in His way.

We love you and say so,

Phil
