C.H Spurgeon wrote the following about holiness -

"You will not gain holiness by standing still.  Nobody ever grew holy without consenting, desiring and agonizing to be holy.  Sin will grow without sowing, but holiness needs cultivation.  Follow it: it will not run after you.  You must pursue it with determination, with eagerness, with perserverance, as a hunter pursues his prey."

I Peter 1:13- 6 gives us some great New Year resolutions -

• Prepare your mind for action
• Be self controlled
• Set your hope fully on your future grace
• Do not conform to the evil desires you once had
• Be holy as He is holy

If we would take this "charge" seriously, our lives in 2008 will be more fruitful and beneficial.  It is my prayer that each of us see the mighty hand of God in our lives in the next year.  May God bless you and your loved ones above and beyond anything you could ever ask or imagine.
